10. Chris Nowinski

Yes, the very fact that he graduated from university was enough to overlook the very fact that he was greener than grass, and Nowinski was offered a WWE contract despite losing to hotshot within the competition. To his credit, Nowinski got higher, and was fit for a midcard heel role on Raw. That is, till the 2003 Royal Rumble. He took a double top-rope move from Edge and Rey Mysterio and suffered a severe concussion that he suffers symptoms from to the present day. Nowinski tried to wrestle a handful additional months in 2003 before being forced to retire from his injuries.

There is a solace to the present unhappy story, though. due to his experiences with post-concussion symptoms, Nowinski co-founded the Sports inheritance Institute, that researches brain trauma in athletes. The institute was one amongst the loudest voices throughout the Chris Benoit tragedy that connected Benoit’s behavior to his brain operate, as a results of various concussions Benoit had suffered throughout his career.
