10 Worst PPV Endings In WWE History

8. The Undertaker Vs The Dudley Boyz – Great American Bash 2004

This entry was met with a mix of horror and mock once it occurred, however everyone was united in inculpatory  it as a nasty PPV ending. The match itself was poor, with funeral undertaker dominating each tag team champions and defeating them pretty simply. This wasn’t specifically an enormous surprise – Taker sadly features a history of squashing purportedly sturdy opponents – however it still contributed to the shoddy nature of the PPV.

The main purpose of competition was the match’s ludicrous stipulation. Paul Bearer was at seating room cornered in a very slowly-filling vat of cement. A delighted Bearer saw his charge win the bout and approach the chamber to line him free…only for funeral undertaker to declare that there was nothing he may do and pull the fatal lever himself, apparently killing his manager.

The WWE quickly processed that Bearer wasn’t really dead, the kayfabe clarification being that he was saved from the cement and rush to hospital, however the event may be seen as terrific and heavy – particularly for younger fans. Others found it merely ludicrous, AN inessential throwback to the times of the Ministry and it’s chintzy, Halloweenish shenanigans. Either way, it definitely had no place within the main event of a WWE Pay Per read and was justly criticised from all angles
